The news is out! Our One School, One Book title for this year is "Class Dismissed". The oldest child in each family will be bringing this book home today, along with a reading calendar. Students heard the first 3 chapters in their class today, but the remaining chapters should be shared at home. Audio files of each chapter are available on the PES Website under the "Principal News" tab. Happy Reading!

NO SCHOOL TOMORROW: Due to the forecasted extreme cold during arrival time, Gretna Public Schools will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday, February 19, 2025. As previously scheduled, there will also be no school on Thursday and Friday.
Elementary conferences planned for tomorrow will be rescheduled, with schools providing updated information at a later date.


LEGO Club Session 1 recently met for a week. It was a busy week where third-grade students created, collaborated, and built together.











School Closure Notice: Due to the Winter Storm Warning and forecasted hazardous conditions, Gretna Public Schools will be CLOSED tomorrow, February 12th. Stay safe.


Palisades may be divided on who we want to win, but we are united in our excitement for the Super Bowl!

Congratulations to all of our Battle of the Books teams for their amazing performance at today's District battle. A special shout out to team 3, who took 3rd place, and team 9 who took 1st place in the competition!











Congratulations to our most recent Character Counts honorees. These students, and our teacher representative, Mrs. Cradduck were recognized for demonstrating perseverance. Way to go!!


The Palisades "Battle of the Books" Teams competed in a dress rehearsal school competition to practice for next week's District Battle at Falling Waters Elementary. These hard working students (nine teams!) read 10 Golden Sower titles, and gathered weekly after school to practice answering trivia questions on each book. Congratulations to Team 1 for winning our school battle!

For the first time ever, we are excited to announce that the school calendars for the next two years, 2025-2026 and 2026-2027, are now available!
A special thank you to the Calendar Committee for their time and effort in making this possible. These calendars will allow families to plan vacations and time away well in advance, ensuring students can avoid missing valuable school days.
You can find the calendars under the "Parents" section on all school websites and are available in Printable Flyers for your convenience.

Mrs. Burns 5th grade class has been learning about food chains and food webs in a variety of ecosystems. Students were given plant and animal cards from a woodland ecosystem and asked to build their own food webs.

Mrs. Husing is sponsoring an E-Sports club for fourth grade students this semester.





Mrs. Schnell sponsors Chess Club for fifth grade students on Friday mornings. They learn chess basics, and get to practice their skills by challenging opponents.
